Dixie Square Mall From Blues Brothers Movie Being Demolished

The Dixie Mall in Chicago just started demolition yesterday (Feb 15th). This is the same mall that was filmed in the Blues Brother movie during the “mall chase” 30 years ago. The mall was already closed at the time of the movie, and has been vacant since. While watching the video clip, I was thinking to myself that they don’t make movies like this anymore. It’s an original. Many of the movies nowadays are copycats. It’s crazy to see people in that mall literally trying to get out of the way during all the crashes. I’d be surprised if nobody was hurt along the way.
